The Iowa 92 Bridge to the east of town has been re-opened by the Iowa DOT as of December 20th. Their full press release is as follows:
FAIRFIELD, Iowa – Dec. 20, 2022 – The bridge located on IA 92 over the North Skunk River, east of Rose Hills, in Mahaska County is to open.
In Spring 2023, the next phase to install permanent guardrail, finish grading, and final striping may require alternating lane closures and using a pilot car for traffic control.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
Duration of all road closures will vary based on the weather
