Overview
The Street Division of the Public Works Department is responsible for maintaining and repairing approximately 70 miles of roads in the City.
Everyday operations include street sweeping and repairing small sized roadway failures, including:
- Cracks
- Potholes
- Sinking pavement
- Utility patches
Typical duties change with every season:
- Spring - Street repair following the freeze / thaw damage that follows winter weather and crack sealing
- Summer - Drainage maintenance, street construction, concrete repairs
- Fall - Crack sealing, concrete repair, and sign maintenance
- Winter - Snow and ice control
