Oskaloosa City Parks

Oskaloosa has 3 main parks -Edmundson, VanderWilt and the City Square.

Edmundson Park
Edmundson Park is 60 acres of beautifully manicured landscape located in the southwest area of Oskaloosa. The park offers a scenic ten-foot wide concrete recreation trail. When developed, the trail will exceed 15 miles. The park also consists of a 1 ½ acre pond for fishing, an 18-hole disc golf course, 3 ball diamonds, an outdoor swimming pool, a large wooden playground, numerous picnic tables and 7 shelters of various sizes.

Picnic Shelters:
To assure availability, shelters can be reserved for half the day (10:00 AM – 3:00 PM or 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM) for $20 or all day (10:00 AM – 9:00 PM) for $30. To reserve a shelter call the Housing & Community Development Office at (641) 673-8362, M-F 8-12 & 1-5. No refunds are given.

Swimming

The Oskaloosa Park Board took on the idea of having the Edmundson Pool remodeled many years ago. In 2005 the dream became a reality. The project began in the fall of 2004 with a dedication ceremony in Oct. 2005. At a cost of $1.6 million Oskaloosa now has a wonderful facility which includes heated pool water, water basketball hoop, 0 depth area, kiddie play area, 2 diving boards and 3 slides. Pool hours are 1:00 - 7:00 pm 7 days a week and is available for rentals.

VanderWilt Park
VanderWilt Park is in the northwest area of Oskaloosa near the new elementary school and plays host to our Little League games. Plans are underway to develop this area into a sports complex.

City Square
The City Square, located in the heart of Oskaloosa, is home to our historic Bandstand. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, or make use of any of the several benches and enjoy the Oskaloosa City Band as they perform at 8:00 PM every Thursday, June – August, weather permitting. Check the calendar for upcoming events such as The Sweet Corn Serenade in August, Art on the Square in June, Farmers Market, and the annual lighted Christmas parade.
