MOWING The City of Oskaloosa has notified residents of the requirements for cutting weeds or tall grass. As stated under City of Oskaloosa Municipal Code Section 8.20.040, owners, agents or occupants of all lots or parcels of ground within the city shall cut, or cause to be cut, all weeds or tall grasses to a height not to exceed twelve (12) inches on their respective premises not later than May 15, June 15, July 15, August 15 and September 15 respectively, each year. If any lot or parcel of ground within the city has not been cut, or has weeds or grass twelve (12) inches or higher on the above dates, each year, the Public Works Director may cause such weeds or grass to be cut. The costs of the mowing shall be assessed to the property owner as set by Council resolution. The minimum charge is $200.00. Call 673-6885 for more information.
