Project Description
  • The scope of this project includes a 2.5" asphalt overlay, full depth concrete and asphalt patching, new concrete curb and gutter, concrete and asphalt street approaches, storm water intake improvements, ADA accessible sidewalk and ramps, and driveway pavement replacement.  
  • On August 4, 2014 the project was awarded to the Norris Asphalt Paving Company for $696,087. 
  • The project began on August 27, 2014, was temporarily suspended on December 18, 2014, and commenced again on March 25, 2015.
  • Construction activity was expected to last approximately 70 working days.

Project Benefits
This project will repair or replace failed curb and gutter sections, concrete street sections, street approaches onto South 11th Street, and storm sewer intakes.  The concrete street will then have a new 2.5" asphalt overlay.  The overlay will extend the life of the street pavement and provide a much improved travel surface.  New ADA accessible sidewalk and ramps will also be constructed for greater pedestrian mobility.  In addition, defective sanitary sewer pipe and manholes will be replaced from 8th Avenue to 9th Avenue ahead of this project and storm sewer will be replaced from High Avenue to 1st Avenue.

  • South 11th Street from A Avenue East to 15th Avenue East.

Project Status
On August 4, 2014 the contract was awarded to the Norris Asphalt Paving Company and construction began on August 27, 2014.  The project was temporarily suspended for the winter on December 18, 2014.  The project began again on March 25, 2015 with the street being re-opened on May 8, 2015.  The project was completed on June 30, 2015.
