Fire
Chief Mark Neff
is in charge of the Fire Department with a staff of eight fulltime
firefighters and approximately 20 part-time reserve firefighters.
The
members of the Oskaloosa Fire Department are dedicated to protecting
the lives, property, and quality of life of the citizens we serve.
We base our success on the superior skills, character, highly
motivated and professional men and women of our organization to
achieve our mission.
The
Fire Department is located at 220 South Market Street at the east

Mission
Statement
The
Oskaloosa Fire Department community commitment is to the citizens
of Oskaloosa that we provide dependable service in a responsive
fashion while showing care and compassion for those in need.
We will protect lives, property, and the environment through fire
suppression, rescue, disaster preparedness, fire prevention and
community education and hazardous material mitigation.
Members
of the department working together will provide a professional and
caring environment that is fair, honest, ethical, and that treats
all individuals with respect and dignity.
Services
In addition
to firefighting the Oskaloosa Fire Department provides extrication
using the Jaws of Life if necessary.
Fire prevention inspections and fire safety education programs are
provided to schools, preschools, day care centers, residential property
owners, and all types of businesses including hotels, motels, manufacturing
firms, retirement homes and nursing homes. Department personnel
also provide CPR training to the general public.
The
Fire Department also issues open burn permits. Download
